Research Interests

Variational approaches, Convex and Non-convex optimization, Multilabel problems, Mumford-Shah functional, GPU programming.

Brief Bio

From May 2010 to March 2015 Evgeny Strekalovskiy was a Ph.D. student in the Computer Vision Research Group at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, headed by Professor Daniel Cremers.

He holds two Master's Degrees, one in Mathematics received 2009, and one in Computer Science (with Honors) received 2010 from the University of Bonn, Germany.

He received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Jena in 2006 and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Bonn in 2007.

Awards

He was awarded the 2013 Google Doctoral Fellowship, and received the 2012 Intel Doctoral Student Honor Award.

He is the national winner of the German Youth Research competition (Jugend forscht) 2005 in the mathematics/computer science field. Also, he is a threefold national winner of the German Federal Math Competition (Bundeswettbewerb Mathematik) 2002–2004.
